Summary
The project required us to create a poster of a famous person (living or dead, from any time in history) and devise a type-based poster celebrating their life. One was to take one's design inspiration from the historical, cultural, ethical and enviromental context surrounding your chossen person.
Type and type forms had to be the dominant feature of the poster, surrounding the chosen person, obscuring them, outlining them, supporting them, creating them but overall adding to the communication objective of the poster.
I produced 3 posters relating to the life of Adi Shankara an Indian Philospher. Two poster were created in photohop using a text replacement technique. The other poster was created in Illustrator. The posters are presented as a 3D and a flat poster. The 3D mockups are presented as art posters.
A slight shift in composition occured in the mockup due to contraints when scaling.
